The car insurance company said I am a “prop 213”. What does that mean?
Proposition 213 is a law that generally says you cannot recover for your pain and suffering in the car accident because you did not have car insurance at the time of the accident. Generally, that is correct but there are several exceptions to this rule and you may fall into one of those exceptions. Until you have spoken with a lawyer versed in this area do not rely on what the other guy’s insurance tells you because that insurance company is there to help the other driver not you even though you are the victim.
